Michael Jackson Memorial Set For Staples Center

Michael Jackson’s memorial and funeral services will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles next Tuesday, July 7th at 10 am pdt. Multiple sources say AEG Live, which owns the Staples Center as well as the LA Nokia Theatre, will use both of those venues in addition to using the surrounding plaza. No announcements have been made in regards to whom may attend the event nor if there will be some type of ticketing procedure or if it is first come first allowed in. The memorial time is subject to change and will no doubt be attended by tens if not hundreds of thousands of fans as well as viewed worldwide.

CNN has released exclusive dramatic video clips of Michael Jackson’s final performance at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. A full dress rehearsal of Jackson’s planned This Is It concert tour was filmed in HD 48 hours before Jackson’s death. Sources say the full concert rehearsal was video taped in HD and will be released at some point.

AC/DC Concert Tour Returns to the US

AC/DC will be heading back on the road this July for the 2nd North American leg of their record breaking Black Ice concert tour. On this leg of the tour, AC/DC will be playing mainly stadium shows with some arena shows in areas AC/DC missed in its first go around.

Micheal Jackson Dead at 50; Was Preparing For Comeback Shows

Michael Jackson passed away Thursday afternoon. Jackson in recent days had been rehearsing at the Staples Center for a comeback run of 50 concerts to be staged at the O2 in London. Purchasers of tickets to the comeback shows may request refunds. Any physical tickets for the shows may have value as collector’s items. Alternatively, rumors are swirling of a tribute concert to honor Micheal’s musical career. The Sun is reporting that Justin Timberlake may perform one of the O2 Arena shows in place of Michael. As word of Micheal’s death spread across the Internet, Google believed there may have been sometime of malicious hacking attempt due to huge traffic spikes.

Micheal’s untimely death brings back memories of the events surrounding the shocking death of Elvis Presley. Micheal was broefly married to Elvis’s daughter.

Britney Spears Concert Tour

Britney Spears, currently on the European leg of her Circus Concert Tour, has just announced that she will return to North America for more shows in the US this summer. Britney plans to hit New York, Boston, Miami, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles (including the Staples Center), Las Vegas and other cities this summer. Britney Spears has had one of the best selling concert tours of 2009. Britney has also promised changes to the Circus performance which has cost over $50-million dollars to produce. Tickets for the Britney Spears Circus summer tour go on presale beginning June 15th and will go on-sale to the general public on June 19th.
